Bridgeport ~ Jackie Nell Davis, 75, a retired Texas Department of Corrections security guard, went to be with our Lord Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Melvin Castleberry will officiate.
Jackie was born on April 28, 1940 to Elbert and Lodema (Saunders) Shanks in Bridgeport. She was united in marriage to Floyd Allen Davis on May 12, 1971 in Bridgeport. Jackie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gene Shanks; and her sister-law, Belle Shanks.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Floyd Allen Davis of Bridgeport; her daughter, Saundra Whitener and husband Derick of Runaway Bay; other family members, Duania Nash, Autumn Hinkle, and Allison McFarland, and Tami Boggs; her grandson, Wyatt Whitener of Runaway Bay; her great-grandson, M.J. McFarland; her sisters, Joanne Beneke of Runaway Bay, and Sue Hudson and husband Johnny of Paradise; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
