Jackie Lea Swarb McGowan, 84, went to be with our Lord Saturday, September 18, 2021
Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery #1. Family will receive friends 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday before the graveside at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Honorary pall bearers will be Mark Hopper, Brent Ferrell, Mark McMillian II, Mark Millan III, Byron Ferrell, Connor Ferrell, Mike Brown and Ed Scharringhausen.
Jackie was born September 10, 1937 to F.A. (Tot) Swarb and Elena Raper Swarb in a house outside of Maud, Oklahoma.
Jackie graduated from Maud Oklahoma High School. She later went to work for the Texas Department of Human Services in Corpus Christi and Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Tecumseh Ok.
She was famous for her chocolate sheet cakes and she loved country and western dancing and fishing. She was a loyal Oklahoma Sooner fan and loved to watch college football.
Jackie resided in Governor’s Ridge Assisted Living for eight years and thought of those who lived there and worked there as her second family. Jackie’s family would like to thank the caring individuals at Governor’s Ridge who made Jackie feel welcome and helped her to adjust to her life there.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, F.A. (Tot) and Elana Swarb.
She is survived by daughters Debbie McGowan Hopper and husband Mark, Pat McGowan, granddaughters Amber Hopper Ferrell and husband Brent and Shelly McMillan and husband Mark II, a sister-in-law Jerry McGowan Brown and husband Mike Brown; 4 great-grandchildren, Mark III, Emily, Byron, and Connor; Lastly, Jackie had two grand dogs, Kyotee and Tot.
