Jacquelyn Denise Dennis Works “Jackie” of Gainesville, Texas passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 in Gainesville, Texas surrounded by her Family. Jackie was born October 29, 1947 in Saint Jo, Texas to Andrew Jackson Dennis II “Jack” and Jorja Mae Parr Dennis “Jo.”
Funeral  is 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. No set family visitation.
Curt Simmons will officiate. Pallbearers include Jeff Lindley, Lance Lindley, Emilio Flores, Justin Wright, Rafael Gonzalez, Javier Lira, and Justin Ellis.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Teresa Janice Gray “Jan”; and her maternal and paternal grandparents; Maude Averill and Homer Lee Parr; Alta Faye and Harper Lindsey Dennis.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Sullins Works of Gainesville, Texas;
her daughters, Tamara Denise Keith Lindley and husband Michael  of Lewisville, Texas, Jodie Janiece Dishman Templin  and husband Richard of Gainesville, Texas, and Cammie Dell Dishman Ramos and husband Jose Arturo of Ardmore, Oklahoma;
her sons, Charles Andrew Keith “Chuck” of New Orleans, Louisiana, and  Alan Works of Denton, Texas; her sister, Jody Dennis Thomas; her grandchildren,  Jeff Lindley, Lance Lindley, Andrew Hartman, Jackson Keith, Megan Ellis, Taylor Stover, Justin Wright, Micheal Templin, Christopher Templin, Jacquelyn Gonzalez, Emilio Flores and Victoria Lira; her great Grandchildren, Gabriel, Izabella, Aiden, Grayson, Jake, Ryland, Lyla, Maxine and Miles; Auntie Sissy, Uncle Bill and Uncle Charles
aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jackie retired from Peterbilt Motors in Denton, Texas and spent the remainder of her time in Gainesville. Her and Tim’s “love story” began with an Eric Clapton concert and bloomed to a span over twenty eight years. Jackie loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cheering for them on all their accomplishments. Jackie also had a great love for her fur babies. She looked forward to any and all family gatherings especially the ones that she could turn into a Mardi Gras theme.
Jackie loved Fall with all the promises of cooler weather, beautiful foliage, football season and the annual Fall Festival. She was famous for her peanut brittle and Martha Washington’s candies, it became a running tradition on candy making and tall tale tellings.
Although she will be missed by all, she will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the American Humane Society.
