BOYD ~ Jake Wilson, 66, a retired U.S. Postal employee and a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in Boyd.
A Celebration of Life will be held 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd.
Jake was born March 18, 1945 to Ira A. and Emma (Stamey) Wilson in Gorman, Texas. He married Nelda Crownover on December 10, 1974 in Weatherford, Texas. Jake was a member of the VFW in Newark and an ordained minister.
He is preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, Dale Wilson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Nelda Wilson of Boyd; his son, Jason Daniel and wife Melissa of New Port News, Virginia; his daughter, Holly Wilson-Garcia and husband Javier of Boyd; 4 grandchildren, Ogden, Ethan, Sydney and Benecio; his father, Ira A. Wilson of Keeter; his sisters, Beth Hinds of Sherman and Gladys Lambert of Keeter; his mother in law, Vergie Williams of Boyd; other family members and a host of friends.
