Runaway Bay -- James P. Baldridge, 99, a retired mechanical engineer for Exxon, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 in Ft. Worth.

Funeral: 10: 30 a.m Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Runaway Bay Community Church with Pastor Craig Wills officiating. Interment: 2 p.m. at Valley View Cemetery, Valley View, Texas. In lieu of flowers: Memorials may be made to charity of choice.

Mr. Baldridge was born Jan. 4, 1908 in St. Louis, Missouri to Paul and Grace Duke Baldridge. His family moved to Jackson, TN a year later, where Jim grew up and attended local schools. Jim was a graduate of Purdue University and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII.

Jim married Patsy Lowe in 1935. They were united 49 years at the time of her passing. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Duke Baldridge and nephew, William Paul Baldridge. Jim married Ida Mae Sims Larimore Oct. 12, 1988 in New Castle, TX. He worked for Humble Oil Refining Company and lived mostly in West Texas until moving to Runaway Bay. Jim was an avid golfer, hunter and very active in the Methodist Church. He will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and caring person.

Survivors: His wife: Ida Mae Baldridge of Runaway Bay. Nieces: Carolyn Baldridge Creech of Winston Salem, NC and Virginia Lowe Myers and husband Chas of Dallas, TX Nephews: William Paul Baldridge of Winston Salem, NC and Davis Lowe of Wichita Falls, TX. Stepsons: Bob Larimore of Keller and Jim Larimore of Stephenville.
