James Russell Barclay

James Russell Barclay, 82, of Alvord went to be with his Lord Monday, March 3rd, 2025.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church with burial at Hopewell Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

James was born March 7th, 1942 to Otis Leonard and Gerlene Maggie (Davis) Barclay in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage November 12, 2010 to Lisa Marie Hilstad at Bethel Baptist Church. James was owner and self-employed at Barclay Salvage for many years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, OL and Gerlene Barclay; his son, Audy Barclay and sister, Molly Proctor.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa Barclay of Alvord; his 3 sons, Cole Barclay of Alvord, Rhett Barclay of Mississippi, and Tristan Barclay of Alvord; his daughter, Scarlett Smith and Howard of South Carolina; his sister, Tracy Parker and husband Ronnie of Alvord; 4 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 4 great-grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.
