James Ray Brown Iii

Bridgeport ~ James Ray Brown III, 39, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 18, 2024 in Bridgeport.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Phillip Askey and Jeff Baker to officiate. Pallbearers are Jesse Olmos, Jake Martinez, Darren Sosa, Jaime Salazar, Dilyn Sosa, Craig Haile, Zach Stedman, and Martin Olmos.

James was born on February 24, 1984 to James Ray Brown II and Linda Marie (Carr) Brown in Dallas. He was united in marriage to Nikki Sosa on September 1, 2023 in Bridgeport. James worked as a Dietary Aide for Bridgeport Medical Lodge. He loved his job and even had his favorite residents he would get hugs from and talk to daily. His favorite hobbies were going to the thrift stores, antiquing, building amazing things from Legos, and an avid action figure collector. James was a beloved husband, father, son, son-in-law, uncle, brother, and a friend to many that will miss him very dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Marie Brown; and his grandparents, Roy Thomas Carr and Hazel Carr.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Nikki Brown and their unborn Baby Brown; his daughters, Izzabella Sosa and Akiva Brown; his sons, Donovan and Devon Brown; his sister, Nina Dube and spouse Timothy Blair; his brother, Gregory Brown and spouse Susie Petty; his father-in-law, Steven Sosa; his father and mother-in-law, Craig and Kim Haile; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
