Alvord ~ James Walter Clark, 84, a retired equipment operator, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Decatur.

Funeral service is 10:30 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial at Alvord Cemetery in Alvord, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Jordan Clark, Kyle Pace, Luc Enochs, Ryan King, Austin Hall, and Roger Meeks.

James was born on October 25, 1931 to John and Elsie (Allen) Clark in Alvord, Texas. He met Patsy Morris in Alvord and was united in marriage on December 9, 1949 in Rossville, Georgia.  James retired from Texas Highway Department.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers and sisters; his grandson, Joshua Charles Clark.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Patsy Clark of Alvord; his sons, Stephen Ray Clark and wife Virginia of Alvord, and John Walter Clark and wife Leslie of Alvord; his daughter, Loretta Jean Clark of Alvord; his grandchildren, Bridy Cantrell and husband Todd, Natalie Funderburgh and husband Billy, Jordan Wayne Clark and wife Kim, Kaylon Withrow and husband Jeff, Lacey Chestnut, and Morgyn Calloway; 6 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; his sister, Velma Parson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
