James Doil Evans

October 23, 1931 — January 31, 2019

Paradise ~ James Doil Evans, 87, went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 31, 2019, in Paradise.

Graveside is 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta. Family will receive friends 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home Bridgeport.

Rev. Howard Walker will officiate.  Pallbearers include Lee Lovato, Erik Evans, Jason Evans, Seth Keener, James Williamson, Keith Stack, and Bruce Messick.

James was born October 23, 1931, to Walter James and Johnie (Hooper) Evans in Ardell. He was united in marriage March 17, 1951, to Betty Jean (Ragsdale) in Tarrant County. James proudly served our country in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his twin brother, Loil Evans; and his sister, Bea Shipman.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Carla Evans of Paradise; his son, James David Evans and wife Tonya of Combine; his grandchildren, Trisha Williams and husband Shayne, and Kalo Evans and wife Ashley; his great- grandchildren, Lauryn Williams, Dylan Williams, and Nolen Evans; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
