Decatur: Roger Gage, 84, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Decatur Church of Christ, Pastor Rick Ross to officiate, with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers are Ross Mueller, Craig Talley, Wayne Long, Brett Shannon, John Gage. Josh Reeves, Justin Ferguson and Scott Nelson.
Roger was born May 23, 1923 in Sycamore, Texas to Elmer and Sophia Harder Gage, and was a graduate of Decatur Baptist College. He was a bookkeeper for Central Telephone and Sanford Oil Company of Decatur. Roger was a member of the Decatur Lions Club, Decatur Jaycee's, past president of the Decatur Eagle Booster Club and was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters-in-law, Helen and Betty Gage both of Denton; nephew, Brian Gage and wife Laine of Decatur; David Gage and wife, Mary of Gunter; Brent Gage and wife, Clyde'ette of Decatur, nieces, Vicky Gage Laws of Denton, Cathy Nelson and husband, Alan of Denton; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
