James William Gardner

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Monday, July 13th at Grace Baptist Church with Drs. Van Gardner and Bill Hughes officiating. Interment will follow service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Cody Gardner, Brett Gardner, Ronald Lambert, Steve Hunt, Preston McCauley, Sr., Randall McClure. Honorary Pallbearers are Ezekiel and Dewey Paque and Dr. Kelley Tibbels.
Bill was born on March 9, 1921 in Cleburne, Texas to John Ezekiel and Fronie (Lassiter) Gardner. He married Ruth Marie Spain on December 15, 1945 in Decatur, Texas. Bill served in the United State Army during World War II, a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish to his memory are his wife, Ruth Gardner of Decatur; sons, Dr. Van W. Gardner and wife, Debbie of Decatur, James Steven Gardner and wife, Cheryl of Bedford; daughters, Shauna Paque and husband, Brian of Decatur, Rebecca Davis and husband, Jeff of Temple; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
