Greenwood: James Arnold Howard, 95, farmer/rancher, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 20, 2010 in Greenwood.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, September 23rd at the First Baptist Church of Greenwood with Reverend Charles Taylor officiating. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Neal Fortenberry, Benny Rutherford, Frank Maxwell, Roland Wilson, Rex Maxwell and Dale Burks. Honorary pallbearers include Roland Carter, Pat Collins and A.C. Griffin.
Arnold was born November 30, 1914 in Greenwood to Knowles Wright and Willie Beulah Mote Howard. Arnold married Hazel Truitt on October 7, 1933 in Decatur. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Greenwood and the North Texas Fox & Wolf Hunters Association.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 77 years, Hazel Howard; son, Willie Joe Howard of Alvord; three daughters, Anna Adell Clark of Keller, Matty Graham of Aledo and Maurine Lovejoy of Argyle; brother, Warren Howard of North Richland Hills; sister, Mary Jo Foster of Hurst; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
