Bridgeport ~ James E. Hudson, 70, a self-employed welder, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. David Rucker and Glen Thurman Harden will officiate. Pallbearers are Heather Hudson, Quinton Hudson, Brady Hudson, Kennedy Hudson, Klayton Canova, Dalton Hudson, Katie Hudson, and Kristin Canova. Honorary pallbearers are Okie Moreland, Tim Woods, Vernon Hardee, Jim Looney, and Mike Richardson.

James was born on July 16, 1941 to James and Louise (Sullins) Hudson in Decatur, Texas. He married Mignon Henderson on March 2, 1968 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport and was a Past Grand Master of Bridgeport Masonic Lodge.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Douglas Hudson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Mignon Hudson of Bridgeport; his sons, Kenny Hudson and wife Katherine of Bridgeport, Doug Hudson and wife Kailynn of Bridgeport, and Alan E. Hudson of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Heather Hudson, Quinton Hudson, Brady Hudson, Kennedy Hudson, Klayton Canova, Dalton Hudson, Katie Hudson, and Kristin Canova; his sister, Connie Holt and husband Thurman of Georgetown; his niece, Kimra Nesbitt and husband Erik of Georgetown; his nephew, Greg Holt and wife Amy of Georgetown; other family members and a host of friends.

Mignon & family, so sorry for your loss. I know this is a difficult time for all of you. Please know that each of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Will never forget Sunday School with James, as well as other times. He was a special man and will be missed by many... If I can do anything please let me know... Hope to see you soon. Sorry won't be able to make the service. I will be thinking & praying for you. God bless & he will give you the strength you need to carry on..
