Alvord ~ James David King Sr., 88, a retired bulldozer operator went to be with our Lord Friday, January 31, 2020 in Decatur.
Graveside is 2:00 p.m. Friday February 7, 2020 at Alvord Cemetery. Military honors provided by the Wise County Veterans Group, family will be the pallbearers. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
James was born March 29, 1931 to William Martin and Dollie (Dobson) King in Alvord, Texas. He proudly served our country in the United States Army as a parachutist. James was united in marriage in 1954 to Barbara Robeson in Marietta, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Martin King, his mother Dollie King and his step-mother, Emma L. King; his wife, Barbara (Robeson) King; his sisters, Earlene Wilson and Mary Margaret; his brothers, William C. King, Charles G. King and Melvin King; his grandson, Clint Brown, and his granddaughter, Amber Denise.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, James David King Jr. and wife Charlotte of Alvord and William Douglas King and wife Sherri of Ft. Worth; his siblings, Barbara Pierce and husband Gary, Betty Ball and Husband Donald Lee, Cheryle Matthews and husband Charlie, Judy Walters, Susan Raines, Kenneth (Beau) King and wife Doris, Richard King and Bobby King and wife Janell; his grandchildren, Joey and Sasha, JD and Joely, Joey and Mitzi , Elicia and Adam, Jacklyn and Robert, Kiefer, Bryttany and Marcus, Joe, Grace, Maycee, Elora, Mazzy, Adaleigh, Lucian, Layla, Breckin and Marshall; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
