James "Freddy" Lawson

Decatur ~ James “Freddy” Lawson, 76, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

Graveside Service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Sweetwater Cemetery. Open visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Freddy was born February 26, 1944 to James Daniel and Myrtle (Sutherland) Lawson in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was united in marriage July 1, 1989 to Donna Jean Carter in Decatur, Texas. Freddy was a store manager for over 30 years and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Lawson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Donna Lawson of Decatur; his daughter, Kathy Sanchez and husband Manny of Burleson, his son Byron Lawson and wife Jie of Whitney his son Britt Burns and wife Stacie of Decatur; and his daughter, Celissa Watts and husband Dale of Alvord; his 3 sisters, Linda Avens of Duncan, Marie Taylor of Electra, and Sharon Manno of Florida; his brother, Danny Lawson of Wichita Falls; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.
