BOYD -- James Verland "Mack" McEntire, 78 went to be with our Lord Saturday, April 18, 2009 at his home.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Boyd. Burial: Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Rev. Darryl Hatley will officiate. Pallbearers: Jason Edwards, Jonas McEntire, Dusty Mayhue, Jeremmy McEntire, Derek Mayhue, and Kent Spencer. Honorary Pallbearers: Jerred McEntire, Bryce Rodgers, Blake Rodgers and Kaidyn Mayhue.
Mack was born in Comanche, Oklahoma on August 13, 1930. He married Myrtle Viola (Dot) McKinney on February 18,1950 in Fort Worth, Texas. Mack was the owner of Macks Furniture and Carpet of Boyd. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boyd.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Myrtle Hendrix.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 59 years, Dot McEntire of Boyd; Son, Jerry McEntire and wife Carolyn of Boyd; Daughters: Diane Edwards of Boyd, Sheila Mayhue and husband Jeff of Boyd, and Shelly Rodgers of Boyd; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; Sisters: Peggy Eastwood and husband Don of Azle, Sue Jackson and husband Jackie of Jacksboro; Numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
