DECATUR -- James Allan McKee, 65, a retired electrician, died Monday, April 30, 2007 in Gainesville.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Aurora Baptist Church.
Burial: Aurora Cemetery
Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Officiating: Reverend Jimmy Withers. Pallbearers: Jim Oldham, Doyle Jennings, Jody Gregg, Perry Jones, Calvin Smith, and Gary Oldham. Honorary Pallbearers: Vernon McCloud, Bill Markum, Wendell Worthington, and Wendell Reid.
James was born in Decatur. He was an electrician. He was the son of L.E. Pete McKee and Opal Harwell. James married Evelyn Garrett on May 2, 1964 in Rhome. Mr. McKee was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church. He was a member of the Rhome Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn McKee of Gainesville; daughters Melissa Rhodes and husband Randy of Decatur, Debbie Knabe and husband Mark of Rosston; son, Ronnie Shockey and wife Pennye of Rhome; brother, Larry McKee and wife Vickie of Aurora; sister, Janelle Blase and husband Olin of Decatur; grandchildren, Jonathan Shockey, Matthew Shockey, Ashley Rhodes, Ryan Rhodes, Blake Knabe, Shae Knabe; brother-in-law, James P. Garrett, several nieces and a host of friends.
