Decatur: James Floyd Meador, 70, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Decatur.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, November 30th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment: Pleasant Grove No. 1. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Tommy Shults, Michael White, Larry Gage, Chris Forbis, Chad Short, and Clifton North. Honorary pallbearers include Wayne Berg, Kenneth Peel, Morris Vess, and Ronnie Saunders.

James was born October 1, 1943 in Decatur, Texas to Floyd D. and Margaret Elizabeth (Caraway) Meador. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Darlene Hardee on January 5, 1962 in Decatur. James worked for Cocanougher Feed Mill Company after 13 years of service. He then went to Roche Vitamins and Fine Chemicals in Fort Worth as supervisor and retired after 29 years of service.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Evelyn Meador; daughter, Cathy Meador Brown and husband, Jonathan (Bubba) of Alvord; three sons, Ricky Meador and wife Debra of Alvord, Jeff Meador and wife, Stormie of Decatur, and Tony Meador and wife, Brandi of Hewitt; four granddaughters, Britney Meador Hurmence and husband, Anthony of Aubrey, Taylor Meador of Alvord, Maci Meador of Hewitt, and Scotlan Meador of Decatur; five grandsons, Jeremy Meador and wife, Jessica, Justin Meador and wife, Naudia all of Alvord, Chance Meador of Hewitt, Braiden Meador, Alec Meador both of Decatur; two great-granddaughters, Jaidyn and Tensley Meador both of Alvord; step-granddaughters, Shawnda Brown Harrell of Whitesboro, and Andi and Molly Brown of Celina; step-grandson, Blake Crawford of Tennessee; three brothers, Wiley Meador and wife, Suzette, Donald Meador and wife, Barbara, and Roy Meador and wife, Linda all of Decatur; two sisters, Dorothy Lambert of Boyd and Joyce Rich and husband, Curtis of Paradise; father-in-law Ed Hardee, brother-in-law, Steve Holland both of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, son, Randy Meador of Denton, three sisters, Vera Moore, Bobbie Stone and Bonnie Holland all of Decatur.
