James I Toole

Decatur ~ James I. Toole, 81, a clerk, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 13, 2015 in Decatur.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. Ken May and Dr. Michael Stanley will officiate. Pallbearers include Jimmy Fisher, Billy Kempe, Larry Kempe, Ken Calvery, Mark Culpepper, and Bobby Hargrave.

James was born on November 14, 1933 to James and Janie (McCollough) Toole in Stewart, Mississippi. He was united in marriage to Leware Shipp on September 23, 1972 in Tennessee.  James retired from American Airlines, he worked as a mail house clerk. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force. James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Lee Toole; his son, James Michael Toole.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Leware Toole of Decatur; his daughters, Jami Petty of Decatur, Lori Tandy of Tennessee, Dawn Oakes of Tennessee, Michaelle Leath of Alabama, and Sharon Baugus of Colleyville; his son, Michael Leath of Alabama; his brothers, Terry Toole of Mississippi, and Melvin Toole of Mississippi; his sisters, Betty Jane Mathews of Mississippi, and Carolyn Via of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
