FORT WORTH - James "Sonny" Whitsitt, 73, formerly of Bridgeport, a retired oilfield production supervisor went to be with our Lord December 31, 2008 in Fort Worth Texas.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at the Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Texas. Burial: Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur. Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Reverend Dale Webster and Colton Burris will officiate. Pallbearers: Colton Burris, T.J. Burris, Cody Burris, Leland Whitsitt, Brandon Gentry, Nikolas Dillinder. Honorary Pallbearers: Clarence Pitts, Earl Green, Ron Womack, Bill Johnson, Billy Fred Walker, Lonnie Hobbs.

Sonny was born July 16, 1935 to William King and Rosabel (Brownlee) Whitsitt in Jacksboro, Texas. He married Dona LaMance on December 7, 2007. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Myrna Coffee and Laverne Whitsitt; his son, Sammy Williams and his sister, Billye Jackson.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife Dona of Fort Worth; his son, Gary Whitsett of Parachute, CO; daughters, Myrna Perkins and her husband Paul of Parachute, CO; Monette Burris and her husband William of Bridgeport; sons, Mike Williams of Bridgeport; Billy Williams and his wife Robin of Glendale, AZ; daughter, Carol Wacasey of Bridgeport; son, Daniel Baker and his wife Jade of Fort Hood; daughter, Arlena Cook and her husband Chris of Watagua; son, Andrew Baker of Fort Worth; daughter, Debra Williams and her husband Eddie of Sweeney, TX; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters Betty Baggett of Markley, Annabel Jackson of Jacksboro and Fredda Payne of Jacksboro; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
