Bridgeport ~James Scott “Scotty" Ford, 50, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28th, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial to follow in Trickham Cemetery in Trickham, Texas. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Rev. Ed Dittfurth will officiate. Pallbearers are to include, Willie Garrett, Ronnie Kleam, Tommy Blessing, J.R. Thomas, Ryan Robinette, Kurt Brown, Scotty Whitefield, and Wade Whitefield.
Scotty was born on July 15, 1972 to James Theodore "Ted" and Diana Cornell (Blackwell) Ford in Brownwood, Texas. He attended and graduated college from Tarleton State University in Stephenville with a degree in Agriculture. Scotty was a teacher for Lingleville I.S.D. and was in his 3rd year with the district as an Ag teacher. He had previously taught at Bridgeport and Decatur Districts, and had worked for Haliburton. His love of animals and agriculture led him back to teaching full time. He would make wonderful memories and life-long friendships with his students and fellow teachers. Scotty was a member of the Agricultural Teachers Association of Texas and the Lake Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department. Scotty will be remembered for his laugh, his willingness to help others, his humorous nature, his kind heart, and his courageous determination and faithful nature despite any obstacles. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend and so much more, who will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Ted and Diana Ford; his brother, Brent Ford and wife Angie; his aunts and uncles, Ray and Barbara Dockery and Joe and Nance Ford; numerous extended family members and good friends.
