Janet Sutherland Fortenberry

BOYD ~ Janet Sutherland Fortenberry, 88, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at her home in Boyd.

Graveside service is 11 AM Tuesday at Boyd Cemetery.  Family to receive friends 5-7 PM Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Brent Wilson will officiate.  Pallbearers: Danny Wilbanks, Eric Frisinger, Mike Brady, Walter Ransom, Neal Fortenberry and Husky Morrow.

Janet was born June 20, 1933 to Brainard and Eva Mae Sutherland in Fort Worth, Texas.  She graduated Northside High School in Fort Worth and married Bill Fortenberry on September 12, 1952 in Oklahoma.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, her son Alan Fortenberry, her daughter Jan Ervin, her granddaughter, Megan Fortenberry, 2 sisters, Betty Owens and Mabel Wood.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters Patti and Kaye Fortenberry of Boyd; her son Tony Fortenberry and wife Rita of Fort Worth; 6 grandchildren, including Addie Bridges, Ashley Frisinger and Ryon Fortenberry; 8 great grandchildren, including Breanna and Ian Powers, Samantha, Stephanie and Sydney LeClear, Khloe Brady and Diesel Frisinger; 2 nieces, Judy Caldwell and Eva Wood.
