Janet Louise (Brooks) Minor

Decatur ~ Janet Louise Minor, 88, went to be with our Lord Friday, October 15, 2021 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 2 PM Tuesday, October, 19, 2021 at St. Johns Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.  Family to receive friends Monday 6-8 PM at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Pallbearers will include Dru Anderson, Kalen Minor, Desmond Minor, Jamal Ibrahim, Shaun Minor, and Isaiah Tucker.

Janet was born on May 6, 1933 to Benjamin Franklin and Georgia Mae (Arnold) Brooks in Decatur.  She married Odell Minor, Sr. on May 15, 1950 in Decatur.  Janet was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sisters, Faye Coleman and Carol Ann Dansby; her son, Odell Minor, Jr.; and 2 daughters, Carolyn Sue Jones and Sue Ann McCullough.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Charles Minor and wife Tiffany of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Kathy Ibrahim and husband Audu of Ft. Worth; her son, Lee Minor of Arlington; her daughter, Micheal Evans and Jeff of Decatur; her son, David Minor and wife Melissa of Alvord; her son, Shun Minor of Justin; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dorothy Bell of Decatur, Veronica Garrett of Denton, and Gwendolyn Brooks of Ft. Worth; extended family and a host of friends.
