J. E. Haynes

Decatur ~ J. E. Haynes, 96, retired heavy equipment contractor, left this life Friday, November 23, 2018 in Decatur, Texas.

Graveside service: 11 AM Tuesday, November 27, at Preskitt Cemetery.  The Reverend Gerre Joiner to officiate. Visitation: 6-7 PM Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

J. E. was born August 11, 1922 to Frederick Malvern and Effie Ware Haynes in Decatur, Texas.  He married Lillie Mae Howard on February 15, 1947, she preceded him in death in 1992 along with their infant son, James Howard Haynes. He was also married to Ruby Maxine Watkins, who also preceded him in death.  J. E. served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, James Haynes and wife Paige of Decatur; 2 daughters, Naomi Watts and Emily Talley, both of Decatur; 6 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; his niece, Marion Winder and nephew, Phil Haynes.

Memorials may be made to the Preskitt Cemetery Association, 670 S. Acorn Drive, Decatur, TX 76234.
