Chico: Jean Mowery, 82, of Chico, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, July 7, 2011 in Chico, Texas.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with Reverend Gerre Joiner officiating. Interment: Chico Cemetery. No set visitation.
Jean was born January 6, 1929 in Decatur, Texas to O.W. and Ollie Mae (Watson) Mowery. She graduated from Chico High School in 1946 and attended Decatur Baptist College and Dallas Baptist College of SMU. She retired from Fireman's Fund Insurance in 1984. Jean was a member of Crafton Baptist Church in Crafton and Gaston Oaks Baptist Church in Dallas. She loved gardening and shopping.
Left behind to cherish her memory are brother, Wesley Mowery of Decatur; two nieces, Marianne Fichera and husband, Buster of Burleson, Jeanette Heffernan and husband, Skip of Madison, Wisconsin; two nephews, Tim Mowery of Winter Park, Colorado and Mark Mowery of Fort Worth; great nieces, Marissa Mowery Fichera, Camille Mowery Fichera, Annie Heffernan; and great nephew, Wesley Camillo Fichera.
