Decatur ~ Rougene “Jeanie” East, 88, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Decatur.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16 2016, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Bob Ross will officiate. Pallbearers include John Barnes, Joshua Barnes, Jacob Barnes, Joe Martinez, Jeremiah Mohr, and Kirby Word.

Jeanie was born on March 26, 1927 to Rex and Viola (Debord) Duggins in Plainview, Texas. She was united in marriage to Dewey Lee East on October 11, 1947 in Amarillo, Texas.  Jeanie served in Wise County Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years. She was a member of Greenwood Church of Christ in Greenwood, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey Lee East; her brother, James Dalton Duggins; her sister, Rexie Greer.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janice Sweitzer and husband Ray of Victorville, California; her son Wayne East and wife Theresa of Decatur; her daughter, Judy Barnes and husband Chris of Decatur; her grandchildren, Mikki Martizez of Decatur, John Barnes of Florence, Mississippi, Jessica Mohr of Rosenberg Texas, and Michael, Jonathan, and Amberly Sweitzer of California; her great grandchildren, Maci East, Jaela Mohr, Joshua Barnes, Jacob Barnes, and Jonah, Joelle, and Jesse Mohr; and a host of friends.
