Decatur ~ Jennie Elizabeth Gordon, 79, a retired over the road truck driver died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Baptist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Gary Dietz will officiate. Pallbearers include Paul Moore, Pete Moore, Elvin Jackson, John Teague, Randy Bird, and Terry Harris.
Jennie was born February 20, 1935 to Robert Elvin and Bessie Bell (Urquhart) Moore in Greenwood, Texas. She married William David Gordon on December 10, 1963 in Gainesville, Texas.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, Dave Gordon of Decatur; 3 daughters, Vivian Dietz and husband Gary of Greenwood, JoAnn Gordon of Greenwood, and Sue Kiker and husband Jim of Maud, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Robert Bost of Greenwood and William Gordon of Maud, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Nadine Gage and husband Bill Jackson of Decatur; brother, Homer Moore and wife Pat of Marble Falls; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, R.E. Moore, Bob Moore, Earnest Moore, Jerry Moore, and Oliver Moore; and 2 sisters, Irmazell Denning and Eva Jo Jackson.
