Jerry Wayne Askey

Funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Staples officiating. Interment: Eaton Cemetery located on the Askey Ranch. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include, Jim White, Michael White, Scott White, Tony White, Danny Guinn, Anthony Lee, Todd Hodges and Chance Davis. Honorary pallbearers include Marty Kramer, Steve Hillard, Rick Bowling, Terry North, Bill Askey, Terry Baker and Brian Lee.

Jerry was born October 22, 1938 in Decatur to Thomas and Beatrice (Jobe) Askey. He was united in marriage to Ina Elizabeth White on December 27, 1957 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Jerry was a member of the Chisholm Trail Antique Tractor Club and the Wise County Rock and Mineral Society. He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Ina Askey; daughter, Kathy Askey; son, Jerry Askey, Jr. and wife Terri all of Decatur; three granddaughters, Stephanie Guinn, Amber and Halie Askey all of Decatur; grandson, Chance Davis and wife Traci of Allen, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Guinn of Decatur, Kaegen and Ansley Davis of Allen, Texas; one brother and one sister; other family members and a host of friends.
