Jerry Lynn Brooks

Decatur ~ Jerry Lynn Brooks, 67, went to be with our Lord Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Lonestar Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Louis Horton and William Brooks will officiate. Pallbearers include Craig Stastny, Joshua Brooks, Dylon Brooks, Corbin Stastny, Micah Brooks, Cooper Stastny, Kelton Brooks, Jaxen Brooks, and Silas Brooks.

Jerry was born February 3, 1953 to Marshall Edward and Annie Mae (Newton) Brooks in Bridgeport, Texas. He graduated Chico High School and was retired from Wise Electric Coop. Jerry was united in marriage July 28, 1972 to Barbara Sue Crunk in Decatur, Texas. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Decatur for 48 years. Upon retirement he became his grandkids number one fan at all sporting events!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Annie Mae Brooks; his son Stuart Ray Brooks; his 2 sisters, Carolyn Head and Joyce Vermillion.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Barbara Brooks of Decatur; his daughter, Melissa Stastny and husband Craig of Decatur; his 2 sons, William Brooks and wife Jessica of Decatur, and Joshua Brooks and wife Jennifer of Decatur; his grandchildren, Corbin, Cooper Stastny; Dylon, Elayna, Micah, Mackenzie, Kelton, Analee, Silas, Carlynne Brooks; Jaxen, and Jozilyn Brooks; his 3 brothers, Dennis Brooks and wife Kay of Alvord, Phillip Brooks and wife Dana of Decatur, and Tommy Brooks and wife Marietta of Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family, friends and coffee drinkers.
