Jerry A. Doss

Boyd ~ Jerry A. Doss, 79, a retired crew scheduler, went to be with our Lord Monday, August 27, 2018.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Brother Jacob Luman will officiate.  Pallbearers include Jackson Benson, Clayton Doss, Nathan Benson, Rusty James, Matthew Ford, and Martin Hartley.

Jerry was born June 22, 1939 to Bryan and Alma (Hogue) Doss in Dallas.  He worked at Delta Airlines for 29 years as a crew scheduler.  Jerry proudly served our country in the United States Marines.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Jerry was a member of the Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 26 years, Onita Doss.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his long time companion, Paulette Hoffman of Fort Worth; his son, Brian Doss and wife Amanda of Boyd; his daughter, Diana Benson and husband Neal of Nashville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Olivia Jinks and husband Coty of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Emma Doss of Austin, Clayton Doss of Boyd, Jackson Benson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Nathan Benson of Nashville, Tennessee; his great grandchildren, Ryder and Brooklyn Jinks; his sister, Peggy James and husband Marvin of Carrollton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
