Jerry Hood

Chico ~ Jerry Ray Hood, 44, went to be with our Lord Monday, May 18, 2020 in Chico.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rev. Kevin Alexander will officiate.  Pallbearers include Billy McDaniel, Jeremiah Phillips, Ty Foster, Travis Hood, Michael Hart, and John Mahoney.

Jerry was born on April 9, 1976 to Billy Ray and Hattie (Moody) Hood in Bowie, Texas. He was united in marriage to Brandie Marie Gilmore on October 19, 2012 in Decatur, Texas. Jerry was an industrious oilfield worker.  Jerry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and football, a well-rounded athletic enthusiast. His life was about providing for his family as a good husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Hood in 1994.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 7 years, Brandie Marie Hood of Bridgeport; his children, Christopher Gilmore, Cheyenne Hood, and Shelby Hood all of Chico; his grandchildren, Hennessey, Randy, and Jordan; his mother, Hattie Hood Hale and stepfather Dale of Chico; his brothers, Brandon Hood and wife Sarah of Chico and Trent Hale and wife Brooke of Kountze; his sister, Kim Vandver of Kountze; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
