Jerry Dell Sandlin

Runaway Bay~ Jerry Dell Sandlin, 70, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in Decatur.

Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born on February 10, 1951 to Clifford and Gladys (Osburn) Sandlin in Modesto, California. He was a veteran and proudly served our country in The United States Marine Corps. Jerry was in the Vietnam War where he was awarded The Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960, and The Vietnam Civil Action Ribbon Bar and Palm and Frame. He was united in marriage to Deborah Stacker on June 25, 1977 in Glen Rose, Texas. Jerry cherished his time with his family and he loved to fish ever chance he could. He was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ronald Sandlin.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Deborah Sandlin of Runaway Bay; his children, Ronald Sandlin and wife Stacie of Denton, Cliff Sandlin and wife Jessica of Bridgeport; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; his brother, Dawain Sandlin; and his sister, Shelia Sandlin Thomason; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
