Jerry Moore Sims

Decatur ~ Jerry Moore Sims, 85, of Decatur went to be with his Lord Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Decatur, Texas.

Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Jerry was born January 23, 1934 to Herman and Lois Elsie (Moore) Sims in Garner, Texas.  He was a retired pastor at Harvest Restoration Church in Azle and was also the owner of Tri County Pest Control in Azle. He enjoyed playing golf, hiking, and watching the TCU Horned Frogs play football.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Mattie (Ross) Sims; daughter, Misty Wheat and husband Mike of Decatur; son, Jeremiah Sims and wife Barbara of Fort Worth; step-son, Derrell Gilbreath of Azle;  grandsons, Trevor Corley, Taylor Corley, and Noah Sims; granddaughter, Teagan Sims; great grandsons, Mason, River, and Tracker Corley; his sister, Peggy Cotton of Mineral Wells; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Buster Sims; and a great grandson, Kannon Corley.
