Jessie M. Holman

Boyd ~ Jessie M. Holman, 80, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at her home in Boyd, Texas, after a long battle with lung cancer, she was surrounded by her loved ones.

Graveside Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Boyd Cemetery.

Jessie was born on January 31, 1941 to J.E. and Mary (Early) Throneberry in Healdton, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to James L. “Jim” Holman on September 7, 1958 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. They eventually moved their family to Boyd, Texas where they raised three children. She out lived 7 of her siblings. “Miss Jessie”, as most people called her touched many lives through the years. She began babysitting at a young age, and continued to do so until a back injury forced her to stop. At times she was taking care of the second generation of the children she had watched many years before. Miss Jessie was loved by all who were privileged to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Mary Throneberry; her husband of 62 years, Jim Holman; her siblings, Bill Throneberry, Carl Throneberry and wife Patsy, Flora Mae Dodd and husband Francis, Edna Rushin, and Harlan Throneberry and wife Marie.

Those left to carry on her legacy are her children, Vickie Baucom and husband Ronnie of Bridgeport, Cindy Carey and husband Charlie of Azle, and Mike Holman and wife Kenette of Paradise; her grandchildren Dustin Baucom and wife Rebecca of Lubbock, Phillip Carey and wife Jena of Monahans, Travis Baucom and wife Kristina of Waco, Joseph Carey and wife Sladonna of Azle, Ashlee Holman of Fort Worth, Skylin Lowe of Bowie, Trinity Hawkins of Paradise, and Michael Holman of Paradise; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Ellen Hefner and husband Keith of Oklahoma; other relatives and a host of friends.
