Decatur ~ Jim Calvert, 85, went to be with our Lord Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Decatur.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 8, 2018 at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel 401 E. 3rd Street Sweetwater, Texas 79556.
Jim was born on October 28, 1932 to John and Ada (Carson) Calvert in Bailey County, Texas. He was united in marriage to Betty Newton on September 12, 1952 in Alpine, Texas. Jim was a retired rancher-cowboy self employed business man. He served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his son, Joe Calvert.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are daughter, Laurie Sellers and husband Mark of Lometa; his grandchildren, Bobby Sellers and wife Jill, Julie Sellers, Rowdy Calvert and wife Crissy, Autumn (Calvert) Allen and husband Ryan, Trae Calvert and wife Jennifer; 12 great grandchildren; his sister, LaNelle Drake; numerous nephews; his niece; and a host of friends.
