Jim Hughes

Boyd ~ Jim Hughes, 75, went to be with our Lord Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Denton.

Funeral is 2:00 PM Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rev. Rick Stokes will officiate. Pallbearers are Donnie Mitchell, Aaron Brickle, Jerry Park, William Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, Joe Holder, Matthew Oldham, and Brakeen Sampey.

Jim was born on September 9, 1945 to William Taft and Faye (Boyd) Hughes in Newark. He was united in marriage to Vickie Lynn Hughes who went to be with our Lord March 18, 2014. Jim proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vicki Lynn Hughes; his brother, Paul Hughes; and his sister, Frances McClurkan.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his 3 sons, Michael Hughes and wife Cindy of Waxahachie, Jonathan Hughes and girlfriend Racheal McDonell of Boyd, and James Hughes and wife Michelle of Venus; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and a host of friends.
