Jimmie Ray Vanhoose

Chico ~ Jimmie Ray VanHoose, 80, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Bridgeport.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27th, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial at Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Brooks to officiate. Pallbearers are Clint Davis, Joe Andrews, Taylor Davis. Joshua Brooks, David Crunk, Richie Pierce and Will Anderson.

Jimmie was born on October 20, 1943 to Joe and Mary Alice (White) VanHoose in Bridgeport. He was united in marriage to Nora J. Crunk on February 1, 1963 in Decatur. Jimmie retired after 20 years as a senior maintenance welder for TXI in Bridgeport and he proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend of many that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jimmie Ray VanHoose II; and his brothers, Marvin Lee VanHoose and Robert Lee VanHoose.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Nora J. VanHoose; his daughter, Tammy Diane Martin; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lane and husband Nate, Mo Coffman, James Martin and wife Kelly, Kasey VanHoose, and Tra VanHoose and wife Deana; his great-grandchildren, Madison VanHoose, Mason Martin, Kayden Lane, Wyatt Lane, Penelope Martin, and Aubrey Martin; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
