The Sunset on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 when our Lord called him home. For Jimmy the Sun rose on July 29th, 1939 when he was born to Inez Mildred Murner Kimbro and Budford Clarence Kimbro in Tarrant County. In just a few years the family moved to Wise County in the Slidell area. Jimmy would attend school in Slidell and go on to graduate from there. Jimmy would build many friendships there and he would later reminisce on how he got to play basketball with the team that went to the State Championship. After High School graduation he attended the Decatur Baptist College and would go on to attend the University of North Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and got to see parts of the United States that he had never had the opportunity to visit, because as he would add, he had never really been out of Wise County. He also would add how lucky he felt because right out of boot camp one of the officers had lost their file clerk, they saw on his paperwork he had some college, they asked him if he could file papers, he said yes. From that day on he had a desk job which he would say was much better than some of the other duties in which he could have been assigned, he did this until he was discharged. After the service he had a few various jobs until he landed at FEMA and there he worked for decades until his retirement. Jimmy called all of his cousins often to check on them and try and to keep everyone connected. His number one hero Larry McMurtry who he got to meet a couple of times and he loved anything Larry McMurtry. His number of thoughts for the day (no matter what), 1, the price of gas, and 2, the weather.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie Lynn; a brother, Kenneth Kimbro; and sister, Jo Ruth Kimbro.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his step-son, Chris Daniel and wife Kristie of Little Elm; grandchildren, Bryan Daniel and wife Brittany, Matt & Stephen Brown, Mitchell & Garrett Patton, and Justin Patton & wife Tori; great-grandchildren, Bryson Daniel, Miles and Mariah Patton; extended family members and a host of cousins and many friends. He will be missed.
