Decatur: Jimmy Lee McClure, 76, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday, November 9th at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur with Reverend Bill Cleveland officiating. Interment will be in Alvord Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kevin Lemond, Mike Lemond, Mike McClure, Randall McClure, Frank Hobbs and Robert Gage. Honorary pallbearers are Chess Hall, Carl Greer, Max McDonald, Bill Askey, Ken Mullins, Vern Tipton, Bud Graber and Dub Hobbs.
Jimmy was born on December 14, 1931 to Samuel Carson and Ola B. (Caraway) McClure. He married Charlotte Jean Yale on August 3, 1954 in Montague County, Texas. Jimmy, an Army veteran, was an engineer for Tex Dot and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Jean McClure of Decatur; son, Rusty McClure and wife, Martha of Sunset, Texas; daughters, Penny Miller of Hurst and Sandra Wright and husband, Dudley of Chico; brothers, Sam B. McClure of Decatur, Bobby McClure of Decatur, Eddie McClure of Bowie and Jerry McClure of Elgin, Oregon; sisters, Wanda Morris of DeQueen, Arkansas, Lou Neally of Yantis, Texas and Sherry Minton of Graford, Texas, grandchildren, Jessica Oliver, Dusty Wright, Jade Cayce, Katie Hyde and Seth Miller and great-grandchildren, Addison Kinsey, Gracie Barker, Zane Cayce and Katilyn Oliver.
