Jimmy was born on December 23, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Frank Lloyd and Helen (Skinner) McCoy. He was united in marriage to Kay Frances Kearns on March 18, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida. Jimmy served in U.S. Navy and he was a member of the Twin Plant Managers Association.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Kay McCoy of Springtown; son, Michael McCoy of Fort Worth; daughter, Danorrow Williams and husband Don of Arlington; granddaughter, Madyson Williams; other family members and a host of friends.
