Runaway Bay ~ Jimmy “Pat” Counts, 81, a retired salesman, went to be with our Lord Friday, April 1, 2016 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial in Gibtown Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Dr. Craig Erb will officiate.
Pat was born on October 13, 1934 to Lawrence Earl and Mattie Lorene (Smith) Counts in Perrin, Texas. He was united in marriage to Virgie LaRue Cox on July 16, 1955 in Gibtown. Pat worked in dental sales until he retired. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Pat was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, and a member of the Masonic Lodge # 1082 in Perrin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Gerald Counts.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, LaRue Counts of Runaway Bay; his daughter, Cindy Schmidt and husband Steve of Chickasha, Oklahoma; his granddaughter, Kali Schmidt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister, Joy Counts of Weatherford, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and a host of friends.
