KEETER -- Joan Jackson "Miss Jackson" Wallace, 76, a retired teacher, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, in Keeter. Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Boyd. Burial: Keeter Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home. Joan was born Aug. 26, 1929, to Neal and Thelma Lisby in Decatur. "Miss Jackson" taught three generations of children in the Boyd and Newark areas. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 897, a lifetime member of the Texas State Teachers Association, a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd and a member of the Baptist church in Keeter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bobby Neal Lisby; and her husband of 46 years, Virgil Jackson. Survivors: Husband, James Wallace; son, Don Jackson and wife, Karen, of Boyd; daughters, Paula Sydow and husband, J.C., Pam Galloway, all of Boyd; grandchildren, Ben Cosby and wife, Amie, John Jackson and wife, Kelly, Christopher and Corey Feldhaus, Sarah, Allie and Samuel Galloway, all of Boyd; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ashtin, MacKindsey, Jackson, Jacklon and Ashley; brothers, Ben Lisby of Grayford, Jerry and Gerry Lisby of Fort Worth; sisters, Martha Choate of San Angelo, Rumell Culp of Paradise, Gwen Comb of Decatur, Beverly Lindsey, Venita Egler and Sue Dodgens, all of Weatherford; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and the many children she taught. Pallbearers are to be Ben Cozby, John Jackson, Christopher Feldhaus, Corey Feldhaus, Sarah Galloway, Allie Galloway, and Samuel Galloway.
