Joann Byford Lambert

Decatur ~ Joann Byford Lambert, 86, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10 AM Friday at First Baptist Church in Boyd with burial in Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the Hawkins Funeral Home Boyd.

Rev. Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers are Jeremy Lambert, Robert Lambert, Jason Lambert, Jacob Pickle, Tommy Lambert, David Lambert, John Lambert, Tim Lambert, Steve Lambert, Mike Lambert, and Danny Lambert.

Joann was born on May 25, 1934 to Louie Silas and Mammie (Forrester) Byford in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Paul Edward Lambert on October 25, 1952 in Decatur, Texas. Joann was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Edward Lambert; 3 brothers, Hugh, Lloyd, and Donnie Byford; 3 sisters, Mae Dell Simpson, Jewell Hesteande, and Imogene Hesteande.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jim Lambert and wife Sandy of Boyd, and Chuck Lambert and wife Julie of Springtown; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Lambert and wife Kim, Robert Lambert and wife Stephanie, Jason Lambert and wife Ashley, Jenna Pickle and husband Jacob, and Jessica Lambert; 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Connor, Lena, and Kayleigh; sisters- in-law, Dorothy Grey, Marie Lambert, and Billie Lambert; Brother in Law, J.L.Hesteande; caregiver, Rosie Schonerstadt ; other relatives and a host of friends.
