Joann (Workman) Mcconnell

JoAnn McConnell, 72, went to be with our Lord January 1, 2023 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2022 at Old Country Church in Bowie with burial at Sunset Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Doyle Wade will officiate. Pallbearers include Dustin McConnell, Cory McConnell, Guy Green, Mike Jackson, Jacobi Sidlauskas, and Don Sidlauskas.

JoAnn was born August 3, 1950 to Ralph Harvey and Annie Belle (Suson) Workman in Bowie, Texas. She was united in marriage September 20, 2003 to Wayne McConnell in Bowie, Texas. JoAnn spent many years working for the Bowie Independent School District, Karl Klement Ford, and TXI Crusher.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Annie Workman; her niece, Karen Phillips, and her great-niece, Ashley Lee.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne McConnell; her one daughter, Sheila Sidlauskas and husband Don of Iowa Park; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jacobi Sidlauskas of Iowa Park; her sister, Ruby Jewell Phillips and husband Edward of Decatur; her brother, Ralph “Buttons” Workman and wife Linda of Rhome; her nieces, Cathy Phillips, Chassidy and Tierney Workman; her nephew, Wesley Workman; great nieces and nephews, Tyler, Taylor and Shannon “Pinky” Lee, and Nicholas, Alex, and Zoe Wigington; great-great nieces and nephews; extended family members and a host of friends.
