Decatur: JoAnn Porter, 67, of Slidell, went to be with our Lord, Monday, November 14, 2011 in Houston, Texas.
Memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Slidell with Reverend Bobby Cates officiating. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church.
JoAnn was born March 18, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas to Carl LeRoy and Recy Mary (Wade) Holloway. She retired from Building Specialties in Fort Worth after 22 years of service. Upon her retirement, she moved to Slidell, Texas in 2007 and worked for the Post Office in Slidell for three years. JoAnn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slidell.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carla Jo Payne of Slidell; brother, Bill Holloway of Brownsville; one niece and two nephews.
