Joe Baker, Jr.

North Richland Hills ~ Joe Baker, Jr., 78, went to be with our Lord Monday, December 6, 2021.

Graveside Service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Chip Norman will officiate.

Joe was born June 8, 1943 to Joe Samuel and Lucy Maude (Sparks) Baker in Fairfield, California. He was united in marriage January of 1962 to Marilyn Irene Gomez in Ft. Worth, Texas. Joe graduated from North Texas University with a Bachelor’s Degree, and was a retired salesman, having worked in the industrial sewing machine industry for many years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Joe was a beloved husband, father,  brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lucy Baker; 2 brothers, Charles and Jerry Lee Baker.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Baker of North Richland Hills; his sons, Joseph Walter Baker and wife Vicky of Austin, and James Emmett Baker and wife Jennifer of Lewisville; his sisters, Sandra Ann Baker Jennings and husband Doyle of Rhome, and Anita Sue Baker of Rhome; his sister-in-law, Belle Gomez Waggoner of Plano; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
