Joe Lynn Driver, Sr.

Decatur ~ Joe Lynn Driver, Sr., 68, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. John’s Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Rev Lance D. Roquemore will officiate. Pallbearers include Darryl Russell, Ray Russell, Curtis Davis, Rashad Willis, Chris Peck, and Billy Jackson.

Joe was born August 7, 1953 to Archie and Irene (Mornes) Scott in Decatur, Texas. He worked for Imperial Fabrication for many years as a forklift operator. Joe graduated Decatur High School and was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Marines. Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Scott and Irene Mornes; his grandson, Beckett Driver; his brothers, Edward Mornes, Michael Davis Mornes, and Herman Mornes; sisters, Lottie Mae Dixon, Jo Helen Brown, and Barbarene Mornes.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Annette Driver of Decatur; daughter, Nicole Driver; his 3 sons, Artabus Driver, Joe “Bug” Driver, Jr., and Joe William Driver; his grandchildren, Sha’Tequa Driver, Artabus “A.J.” Driver, Dezirae Seagroves, Zahrea Driver, Ka'Trevion Alexander, Cameron Driver, Tamara Driver, and Rory Driver ; 1 great-granddaughter, Iris Driver; his brother, Willie George Mornes; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
