Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jerry Watson, II, Barry Watson, Byron Watson, Rance Rudy, Dale Cox and Bob Riek.
Joe was born August 3, 1916, in Decatur, to Albert and Zina Fox. He was a resident of Decatur most of his life. He graduated from Decatur High School, Decatur Baptist College and attended the University of Texas in Austin where he was in the band. He married Tommie Riggs on February 19, 1938 in Decatur. Joe retired from General Dynamics and later from ranching. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist church. He loved spending time with his family and visiting his ranch.
Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Tommie Fox of Decatur; daughters, Shirley Fox Watson and husband, Jerry of Decatur, Neva Fox Rudy and husband, Henry of Duncanville, and son, Albert Fox and wife Pamela of Owensboro, Kentucky; grandchildren; Dr. Jerry Watson, II and wife Jennifer of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Barry Watson and wife Polly of Denton, Byron Watson and wife Heather of Decatur, Leigh Jenai Low of Decatur, and Rance Rudy and wife Misty of Dallas; great-grandchildren. Erik and Breece Low of Decatur, Sylvia and Amelia Watson of Denton, Lindsey, Nathan, and Ethan Watson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
