Springtown ~ Joe Long, 66, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord Friday, July 15, 2016 in Springtown.
Memorial service is 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel.
Chaplin Paul Harris and Chaplin Phillip Weitner will officiate.
Joe was born on July 24, 1949 to Minard and Dollie Long in Livingston, Texas. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Long Cliborn; and his brothers, Homer Long, Troy Long, Doyce Long, Bobby Long, Ray Long, William Long, and Tomas Long.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Thompson of Bridgeport; his sons, Henry Thompson and fiancé Shannon of Springtown, Josh Long and wife Nikki of Atlanta, and Eddie Tubb of Vernon; his daughters, Jennifer Long of Atlanta, Yvonne Gulick of Granbury, Elizabeth Clendennen and husband Allen of Bridgeport, Elaine Cooper of Mineral Wells, and Denise Dempsey and husband Charlie of Bridgeport; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; his sister, Faye Thomas and husband Jim Thomas of Huntsville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and a host of friends.
