Rhome ~ Joe Piper, 96, an engineer, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 27, 2020 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 11 AM Monday, June 1, 2020 at Aurora Cemetery.
Joe was born on March 25, 1924 to Frank and Catherine (Andre) Piper in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage April 25, 1942 to Joy Ruth Gartrell. Joe proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 68 years, Joy Piper; grandchild, Deana; and daughter-in-law, Trudy Piper
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his 3 sons, Joseph Rodney Piper of Lebanon, Billy Franz Piper and wife Deloris of Haltom City, and Olon Gartrell Piper and wife Sarrah of Newark; 6 grandchildren, Vicky, Lindsey, Jon, Deanna, Kathy, and Frank; 9 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Collin, Luke, Sophia, Liam, Stella, Tate, Cooper, and Avery; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Maddox, Delanie, and Kennedy; other relatives and a host of friends.
